MPS Outer London

Required as soon as possible
Oak Hill School is a small provision within AP Barnet MAT for pupils aged 11-16, all of whom have an EHCP in the category of Social, Emotional and Mental Health. We currently have 37 pupils on roll, 35 of whom are boys. We are looking for a Teacher with exceptional behaviour management skills to join us from 1st January 2020 to deliver Maths lessons to our cohort of mixed ability pupils. This post is open to both Primary and Secondary trained teachers. We do not require a Maths specialist but are looking for the right person who is keen to work in an SEMH setting and who has some experience in teaching Maths. Further training will be provided as identified.
Oak Hill School is a warm and welcoming school where the pastoral care is at the forefront of everything we do. We build close relationships with our pupils and their families and this gives us the bedrock from which we can work with our cohort to help them all achieve their potential and make their school days happy, fulfilling and purposeful. This nurturing environment is extended to our staff team where we pride ourselves on looking after our teachers and support staff in the same way as we do our pupils. We have a very low staff turnover, which we believe is a result of the happy and supportive ethos along which the school runs. All staff are encouraged to take part in sporting activities and enrichment sessions and sports such as football, rugby and basketball are extremely popular.
All pupils study Mathematics at KS3 and KS4. In Years 10 and 11 they take Functional Skills and/or GCSE exams. All lessons have a high staff to pupil ratio – a member of our team of highly experienced and skills LSAs and support staff supports teachers in every lesson. We have high expectations of our pupils in terms of behavior and work output.
If you are interested in joining our school we would love to hear from you. For further details and an application form please telephone Nicola Baker on 020 8361 4639 or email Nicola.firstname.lastname@example.org
We comply fully with the ethos of safer recruitment and undertake all relevant checks. References will be sought before interview. We welcome visits to the school prior to application and/or interview. Please note that school will be closed from 19th December 2019 to 6th January 2020.
Closing date Friday 10th January 2020.
