Speech and Language Therapy (SALT)

Our Individualised Approach to Student Support

We take a highly personalised approach to meeting the needs of our students. In addition to the strategies outlined in Section F of student EHCP's , we work closely with external professionals such as Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) to provide specialist input when required. These services may be accessed on our school site for a variety of reasons, typically when students need more targeted or professional support beyond what can be offered through universal or classroom-based interventions.

Speech and Language Therapy (SALT)
SALT supports students who experience difficulties with communication, speech sounds, language development, or social interaction.
This may include:

  • Assessment of speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Individual or small group therapy sessions focusing on language skills, articulation, and social communication.
  • Strategies and resources for teachers to promote communication in the classroom.

Students are referred for SALT following concerns from teachers, parents, or other professionals. Therapy is tailored to the level of need and may involve regular sessions or targeted interventions during the school term.
